Combined: Tuesday and Wednesday

Tuesday and Wednesday
Haha... too tired to write a blog yesterday, so I'm writing what I did yesterday.

Anyway, yesterday Guan Si was having his Class 2B Traffic Police test, so he wasn't here on that day. Well, the result? He got 18 points, just nice to get a licence for motorbike. Anyway, just this morning he said that was his 5th or 6th attempt already. He said that Class 2B TP is kind of difficult to pass. Well, the traffic police will be stationed in some places in the circuits and outside the test route as well (by the way, there's only 1 test route for bikers). Sometimes the different TP may mark the same mistake you made, so maybe you didn't check blind spot one one occasion, you might get 2 ticks for that... Hmm... He said that there was one time he got 4 ticks for blind spots, even though there's only 3 boxes in the test sheet itself. Hmm... Well, he also have to remember how to ride that only test route, becuase the TP are not going to guide where the bikers are going. Ok, that's Class 2B. Hmm... me actually was thinking of taking Class 2B... Haha... think decided not to do so... Anyway, I still can't balance on the bicycle... :P

Well, we went to Nanyang Polytechnic during lunchtime for yesterday and today. Well, yesterday we wanted to go to NYP to eat because we were quite tired of the food in Tech Point. Today? Well, by right we planned to bring our own food to office, but as I don't feel like eating the cup noodles I brought to the office, and today was Isaac last day of work, we decided to go to NYP, one is to buy lunch for myself, another is to buy some chocolates for Isaac from NYP Shopping Arcade. Haha... so nice to have a shopping arcade inside the institute. Well, they had gift shop, clothing shop, books and stationery shop minimart and so on inside the shopping arcade. Wonder if there's one in NUS... Think I must explore NUS first...

Well, for lunch today, I bought an upsized McDonald's fish fillet meal back to the office. Haha... I was quite hungry at that time... Anyway, it only cost me $4.80 for that ($4.30 without upsize). Things in the polytechnic are certainly cheap... Even the packet drinks and can drinks are cheap as well, each packet drinks cost 40 cents, while each can drinks cost between 70 cents to 80 cents. Haha... that's cheaper than what they had in my alma mater, Nanyang Junior College (NYJC), even though they both had the word "Nanyang" or "NY" for the name of the institution...

I was feeling so tired both on yesterday and today. At least there aren't that many applications yesterday, but for today, haiz... The people from SCM gave me quite a lot of new applications for me to key in. Moreover, there's also credit card applitcations from the CreditAble (declined cases) to key in as way. The CreditAble totalled to be 56... There's 79 new applications for me to key, so there's like 130+ applications to key in... Haha... I was actually daydreaming and working at the same time... But anyway, my speed was fast enough to complete what I need to do.

Monday: The Worst Day of the Week

So Sleepy and Tired
Got to work with very heavy legs today... Did anyone chained me with weights last night? Hmm... I checked my legs... No, I can't see any weights chained to my legs. Why did my legs feel so heavy? Hmm... Think the bone mass on my legs had increase very dramatically while I was sleeping... Maybe that's why it feels so heavy... Haha...

Anyway, I just did not have that mood to work. When I saw my temp staff colleagues early in the morning, I forced out a smile to them... Well, it's very difficult to smile on Monday mornings, don't you agree with me?

Haiz... Anyway, the WebEA (the thing that I need to key in the applications) was down until mid-afternoon. I was really scared that it is not even ready till the end of my work day. Once WebEA is down, this would means that I would have nothing to do. This also means that I need to work doubly hard the next day... This is just how important WebEA is for my work. AS400 is also quite important, when it's down, I'll have nothing much to do in the morning. Haiz... The WebEA and AS400 seemed to give quite a lot of problems, so it affects our work a lot... Think Maybank shouldn't save money about maintain the system...

Movie: XMen
Well, watch XMen movies with Chun Hoo, Tze Guan, Wei Qiang, Kai Quan, Chit Chin and Hong Joo. The 5 of them, Chun Hoo, Tze Guan, Wei Qiang, Kai Quan and Chit Chin arrived earlier and had their dinner somewhere nearby. Well, I ended my workday quite late, so I only managed to arrive just on time for the movie. At first, Hong Joo want to leave him out for the movie, as he was going to be late, but Chun Hoo managed to pursuade him to come. Well, in the end, he managed to come, and just missed only about 5 minutes of the show. That's better than not watching at all, right?

Went back straight home right after the movie. Thought of sleeping straight away, but I still have to type out the blog, and also use MSN for a while.

Tape Recording for Lectures?
Well, as I was talking to Haohan about that, I remembered what my JC maths tutor, Ms Ng, told us last time. Well, when she was still in NIE last time, she had a friend, who was afraid to miss out anything the lecturer said. So, of course, she will always be present for the lectures as long as there's nothing important that she need to tend on.

One day, her friend was going to miss the lecture, as something important cropped up. As she was really scared of missing out anything the lecture, she decided to ask Ms Ng and her friends to helped out to catch up with the lectures when she's back. Well, at frist, Ms Ng told her that she could borrow their notes that they had taken down during the lecture, but her friend said that she wanted them to help her record down what the lecturer said during the lecture. She insisted on that as well, so Ms Ng and her friends decided to agree with that.

Her friend told her that they must record everything what the lecturer had said during the lecture. Well, Ms Ng told her that it's ok to miss out those things that was not important for the lecture, like the jokes, stories, lame things the lecturer had said. Anyway, the tape only can record up to a certain about of time right? So, this is to save the space on the tape. Well her friend said she MUST still record everything down, from the very start of the lecture to the very end of the lecture. That means if the lecture start at 8am, she must press the record button before 8am, even if the lecturer had not arrived the lecture theatre yet. When the lecturer went out for a while to have a short break, she cannot press the stop button until the end of everything. Footsteps made by the lecturer that just came in must be recorded. Coughing and sneezing MUST still be recorded inside as well. Huh? Is there anything to learn about coughing and sneezing? She also said that if the tape run out of space, she must quickly change to a new one and record.

Her friend also to them to sit on the very first row, so that they could follow the lecturer with the tape recorder. That means if the lecturer walk to the left, she must follow the lecturer to the left, if the lecturer walk to the right, she must move right. If the lecturer walk to the back of the lecture theatre, she must stand up and follow where the lecturer walk to with the tape recorder. By the way, she want them to use more than one tape recorders as well, so as to play safe. So, in other words, Ms Ng and her friends were just like the news reporters inside the lecture.

So, throughout the lectures, they had to keep moving about, following the lecturer because the lecturer likes to move about here and there. The students inside the lecture theatre were looking a them, wondering if they were making a news report about the lecturer. Also, the lecturer came late, so they had to record that down as well, which is just noise made by the students. The lecturer also teach nothing much on that lecture as well, so he was just telling all the jokes and stories throughout. Haha...

After that incident, Ms Ng and her friends tried to stay away from that person, especially if she was going to miss her lecture again. She said she didn't want to do that again... Haha...

Anyone taking ABRSM Oboe, Bassoon or Alto Saxophone exams? Ok, the good news is they have come up with the exams pieces recordings for Grade 1 to 8, in addition to Flute and Clarinet. Well, it is confirm that they had the complete syllabus for Grade 1 to 3, not really sure about Grade 4 to 8.

So, those taking Oboe, Bassoon or Alto Saxophone exams, you don't have to worry too much about which pieces you should choose, and also about the piano accompaniment during your practise, since they have the playalong practise tracks inside the CDs.

So Sleepy...

Tired Morning...
So tired this morning... I don't even feel like waking up... Haiz... Anyway, I drank a lot of water last night, so I really need to get up of the bed to visit the toilet... Anyway, my parents want me to go for breakfast, so I just go with them very lazily...

Today I had that economical bee hoon from one of the stall at Tekka Food Centre. Well, just want to try something a little different from the vegetarian bee hoon. Well, the bee hoon is not as dry as the one from the vegetarian stall, so the food can be swollowed quite easily.

Violin
Haha... didn't practise again for violin... Anyway, we still managed the piece well for the Hunter's Chorus from the Suzuki Violin volume 2, so, he decided to end this piece. Anyway, we learned a piece from the ABRSM Grade 2 exam pieces. Haha... the piece is quite difficult to play, because it's in G minor and there are a lot of accidentals as well. Ok, for those people who don't know, playing flats is more difficult on the violin, unlike some woodwind or any brass instruments. Well, G minor had 2 flats, so we had to struggle to position our fingers correctly... I have to say that playing a piece with 4 sharps is easier than playing a piece with 2 flats. That's violin... This is also true for viola and cello, not really sure about double bass though.

Sleepy Afternoon
After I went back home, I used the computer for a while. Thought of going to the food fest with Hong Joo later, but he said that he need to rest at home because he will be packed with activities tomorrow. Ok, after that, I went to have my beauty sleep... Haha... didn't turn on my air-con, so I was feeling a bit hot, but still managed to sleep well...

Harpsichord in Singapore?

The Harpsichord Experience
Yes, I managed to find one shop that sells harpsichords. For those interested about this instrument, I'll tell you where you can find them. It's at Synwin Enterprise at Tanjong Katong Complex (near Paya Lebar station). This is also one shop that specialises in string instruments.

Yup, today I went to Synwin Enterprise to take a look at this rare instrument. Well, they just had harpsichord in the shop quite recently. Currently they are selling 2 models, one is the double-manual French harpsichord, the other is the single-manual Italian harpsichord. Generally, the double-manual harpsichord over there is for solo keyboard works, while the single-manual one is for continuo or for accompaniment (mainly due to the sound and tone quality).

Anyway, when I asked the salesperson about the price, he said that the double-manual harpsichord cost about $36000, while the single-manual one cost about $26000. Hmm... ok, that isn't so expensive for a "antique" instrument. Anyway, they also let me try out the harpsichord as well. Haha... Thought usually people would be very stringent about pricey instruments like harp and harpsichord, but this one is kind enough to let me try. Haha... my very first touch of the harpsichord.

Anyway, I have to say that the feeling of playing the harpsichord is different from that of the piano. The touch is generally lighter, and the keys are smaller than the piano. The double-manual one even have the inverse keyboard colours (where the natural keys are black in colour, and the accidentals are white, which is the total opposite of piano keys).

Well, I tried playing some of the Bach pieces on the harpsichord. Haha... Just can't get used to the touch. Well, no matter how soft or how hard you press the keys, the dynamics (loudness and softness) will always be the same, unlike the piano. Haha... Me just kept forgetting about that, thinking that the sound will go softer by having lighter touch... There re also no pedals on the harpsichord as well. That's fine for me, since I don't usually play Romantic period pieces or pop music on the piano.

Anyway, I always didn't play quite consistently, often missed a few notes out. The person said that I need to lift up the keys completely in order to play the same note. Ok, just something not like the piano, where I always hold the keys, and sometimes I just lift up the key and press back again without lifting up the key completely... Me sometimes being lazy to lift the keys completely... Haha...

Well, the person said that the harpsichord need to be maintain regularly. He said that the jack may need to be changed quite often, because it might become a bit unusable after many playings. Ok, I can understand that. While trying out both the harpsichords, one of them cannot play one note because the jack could not function properly, another got stuck halfway after pressing the key. Never mind, unlike the piano, the smaller parts like the jacks, the strings and the tuning screws can be changed or adjusted. Well, you don't see people changing the strings on the piano, right? Anyway, I was really aspired by the salesperson when he tried to fixed the harpsichord, and when he made the jacks and plectrums (the thing that plucked the harpsichord strings) by himself. Haha... after I finish my university, think I'm going to learn how to maintain a harpsichord, that is if I'm given at least some time and also a chance to do so, and I'm really serious about that. :P

Too bad I don't have a video camera (my family doesn't have one), or else I would let you see and compare my performance on JS Back Prelude No. 1 in C between the harpsichord over there and my piano, using YouTube.

The salesperson over there also tell me jokingly that I can be the harpsichord demo if they need one. Well, I don't mind being the demo. Haha... If I am the demonstrator, you'll must come to Synwin and see me play the harpsichord, ok?

Harpsichord Perfomance and Demostration
Ok, there will be a harpsichord performance and demonstration on 25 June (Sunday), at a price of $20. Those people who are interested can come and contact me through the blog tags/comments, MSN or SMS. I'll get the tickets by either next week, or 2 weeks later.

The Harpsichord Concepts
Ok, here are some of the pictures on harpsichord and how it works.

Flute: The Last Lesson
Ok, from next week onwards, I'll be joining another class. It's still on Saturday, but the timing will be from 5pm to 6pm. Haiz... now I'm going to miss my fun and funny classmates like Johanna, Jasmine and Michelle. Well, never mind, I still can see them when they were being dismissed from the class. I wonder how is the 5pm class going to be like.

Well, changing class would also means that my school fees will increase... Haiz... my teacher said that the class is currently doing Level 3 Flute, so I'll be paying the school fees for Level 3 Flute... Haiz... The same goes to my violin as well, going to pay the Level 2 Violin fees as well... Ok, time to revise how I'm going to spend my money...

After my lesson ended, Johanna, Jasmine, Michelle, Veronica and I walked around in Plaza Singapura. Well, Jasmine said that she had to buy the movie tickets for tomorrow. Yup, tomorrow, you can't possibly buy the movie tickets last minute at such popular cinemas like GV Plaza, right? Anyway, the queue was quite long that it almost reached the escalator. The 4 of us, Johanna, Jasmine, Veronica and I decided to go down to the basement to buy the Crispy Chicken from Ke Kou Wei. Anyway, the queue was quite long as well, haha... Jasmine managed to come down just on time to take the food we helped her to buy.

Friday... The Best Day

Friday is Here!!!
Haha... finally, it's the end of the working week. Haiz... recently had been so busy keying in all the applications, because they had a few roadshows going on last week. Anyway, for this week, I had key in more than 500 new applications, excluding those applcations for another card, unapproved CreditAble card applications and so on.

This is also one week that I hit more than 100 applications on average per day. Haha, record breaking. The highest Visa Platinum and Mastercard Platinum hit is also from this week, with 111 Visa Platinum and 32 Mastercard Platinum as the peak. Haha... never get so many applications before after working for like one and a half month in Maybank.

Anyway, there weren't much applications coming in today. So far, I keyed in 34 new applications, so that's like a big dip from Thursday to Friday. Well, I still have to help Chae Yun to print customer inquiries and calculate income. There were so much work for her to do now, think she's only routing and buying credit bureaus for applications that I keyed in 2 days ago (supposedly to be done yesterday). Anyway, I managed to print out all the customer inquiries for Visa Platinum applications keyed in yesterday, still got another 60 percent more to go...

Lunch at Nanyang Polytechnic
Today, we had our lunch at Nanayang Polytechnic (NYP). This is the 2nd time I went there for lunch, first time buying McDonald's back to the office. Anyway, we decided to go to the nearest canteen that we reached. Haha... can't possibly go further in to the air-conditioned food court due to time constraint. Hmm... don't really know what to eat, so I decided to eat economical rice from the Chinese food stall. Hmm... thought of eating Western food, but the food seemed to take quite long to prepare, so I decided against it.

We also discussed about what we should eat for lunch for next week and so. Haha... we thought of going Tech Point canteen on Monday, Police Station on Tuesday, "Bring own Food" day on Wednesday, buy food back to office from Tech Point canteen on Thursay, and NYP canteen on Friday. Haha... well, we have to see.

POSB Go! Card
Well, heard that Wei Qiang got his Go! card immediately from the bank. Haha... maybe I should not have applied outside and wait for like 5 to 6 weeks to get the card through post...

Well, still remember I had my first NETS purchase and Mastercard purchase with the POSB Go! card on the same day and same place at Borders. one of them is to buy the Mozard Wind Quartet/Quintet music CD, the other is to buy the Electronic Gaming Magazine over there. Well, now I'm waiting for my POSB Go! statement to be sent to my home. Wonder how it looks like... Anyway, I have to say that the orange POSB debit card statement looks plain and ugly, with no colours... The UOB Visa Mini is also quite plain, but still have a bit of colours... Haha... Why am I talking about the design of the statement now? Well, never mind, just being a bit boliao now.

"Bring Your Own Food" Day

Wednesday Matters
Whoa!!! I managed to key in 150 new applications. Ok, maybe I exaggerated a bit on my last post. Think there's only up to about 450 new applications given to me on Monday and Tuesday. Anyway, I've keyed in more than 400 new applications up to Wednesday, so there weren't as much work left I carried over that I need to do.

Anyway, we went to the Neighbourhood Police Centre to have our lunch again. The food over there taste great. I really like the Fish & Chips there. Just don't know why, whenever I think of the NPC, I would think of Fish & Chips. Haha...

Matters for Today
Well, still can't really clear the mails given to our department before I finish my work day, but never mind, I can carry foward to the next day. Ok, I managed to clear all the new applications given to me from those people from SCM. Well, they had a number of roadshows last week, so there are just way too much work for us to handle. Haiz... I wonder what stunts they are coming up next? Giving further 50% discount for the use of Maybank credit card during the Great Singapore Sales? Whoa... If they really do that, we are just going to DIE... Haha... If I really be leaving the mortal world, you'll must remember to pray for me every night, so that I can rest in peace, ok? :P (Just joking)

Anyway, today is "Bring Your Own Food" Day, a day randomly set by my group of temp staffs. Basically, we just buy any food we want to eat from the food centre before we come to work. Well, can't think of what to buy, so I just get myself a cup noodle for lunch, so it's another Cup Noodle Day for me.

Well, gathering with all the temp staff can be really fun. Basically, they will be talking about the TV shows or movies they watch, holidays and so on. The most interesting one would be the school life. Haha... still remember how Guan Si and Sock Mui compare between their secondary schools on how harsh, weird and funny their punishments were. Think Guan Si's one had the oddest of all.

Anyway, Guan Si and I kept talking the whole afternoon about the army. Just like that, we talked about our platoon sergeants. Haha... Guan Si said that the signal platoon in 4 SIR also hate their PS. Just like our PS, his PS would come up with all those unworkable and odd ideas, thinking that it would work great. When the outcome is a failure, which everybody would expect that, he would just scold them like that. Haha... kind of unreasonable. Well, at least his PS was able to deflect all the "arrows" that were being shot to them, unlike our PS... Haiz... How pathetic... Anyway, they hated their PS so much, whenever their PS come towards them, they would just quickly run away. They would also come up with stunts to show how they hated him... Haha... Anyway, I also told him about the... well you know... all the "credit bills" (not the real credit card bills) that he owned to many "banks", and only by telling the big "authority" he paid all the "credit bills" back to the banks... Haha... sorry if I had to write in that way... My camp mates should know what I mean... :P

Finally Friday is coming... Think we might be going to Nanyang Polytechnic for lunch. Well, we can't possible keep going to Tech Point canteen and had our lunch... Haha... think I'm exhausted with the food in Tech Point...

Ok, announcement. Maybe not a concern to you'll. Haha... I have given up driving. Well, after many consideration made for the past few months, I decided to quit driving. Why? Well, I don't have that interest and motivation to drive. There's no point for me to drive like that, right. Long term invesment? Sorry, not for me in this case. I just like taking the train, just don't know why. Haha... Hmm... maybe I should be the train operator instead... :P

Work: A Mathematical Approach

Just More Work
Well, take a look at this.

Yesterday's + today's New Applications coming in = 500+

No. of New Applications I keyed in yesterday + today = 250+

According to this rate, I'll only finish the other 250+ by thursday, that is IF there are no new applications coming in for the next two days.

If there are more applications coming in, most likely I'll have to dragged tomorrow's work until Friday.

Haiz... will Chae Yun and I be the next 2 temp staff to do overtime?

Well, actually I don't mind doing overtime. The thing is that doing overtime for temp staff is subjected to the head approval. Well, if they don't approve your overtime, and you do overtime, you will get no money for the extra hours you worked. In fact, the head don't really like temp staff to do overtime... See how stingy Maybank can be...

Anyway, even if we are allowed to do overtime, our work for this week will most likely dragged until next week. By the way, I'm already putting aside Conie's work. Well, look like I can form a "Miz City" on my office cubicle. I can already see some towers forming on my desk already...

Typo Error
Well, talking about tower, Hong Joo spotted a mistake I made on the blog, about the goodie bag that we collected from the Newpaper Big Walk. Well, I spelt towel as tower... Hmm... looks like I must be thinking too much about the "tower" on my desk that I type the word wrongly... Anyway, I was kind of tired when I typed the blog...

Relieving Stress
Whoa... looking at the amount of work I need to do, I feel that I need to relieve all my stress put onto me. Ok, it's time to do something this weekend. Well, I'm going to the Singapore Zoo (most likely, not confirm yet). Hope that I could relieve my stress by looking at those cute animals... (Haha... :P) Anyway, I haven't been to the zoo for quite some time. Wonder how it looks like now...

Miz the Zombie

So Many!!!

OMG!!!

200 NEW

APS?!?!?!

Whoa... I only managed to key in 135 new applications before I end my work day. Anyway, out of this 135, 111 are for Visa Platinium. I was wondering, why so many people wanted to apply for the Visa Platinium card. Is it because the card looks very nice? Well, you've seen the Visa Platinium advertisement from the movie, the advertisement which shows a girl who could only afford one bird for the safe journey rituals, and the man use his Visa Platinium to buy and release all the birds into the sky. Well, the Visa Platinium card you seen from the advertisement is black, right? Yup. Most Visa Platinium card are black in colour, which includes the Maybank one. Ok, it may look a bit stylish, but doesn't look so classy...

Anyway, today I was working like a zombie. There was no life at all when I worked... I just work like that, without realising much what I was doing. Hmm... Think I was already being programmed like a robot, whatever I do are mundane, just follow the instruction booklet and do what I need to do. So, does that makes me a zombie robot (or a robot zombie)?

My Temp Staff Colleagues
Anyway, I requested a picture from one of my colleagues. She took her camera to work last week and took some pictures in the office. Well, this are my colleagues.

Mostly girls? Yup, my department is originally a female working environment department. Guan Si and I are the only 2 males in the department. Well, heard from one of my colleagues (she had left already) that there were no males in the department last time. She said Guan Si and I are the first 2 males to be seen working inside the department. Hmm... think they can't get enough people to work, so that's why they were also looking for males as well.

Stingy Bank
Yup, think Maybank is one of the stingiest bank here. The four of us, Guan Si, Chae Yun, Serene and me, are working for a 8 people job. Oh my... Anyway, poor Serene had to do overtime (none of the temp staff had done that) because there are too many balance transfer to be done. Haiz... Anyway, I also could not finish my work today... Haiz... They should really consider employing more people. Some more our pay is so low, why can't they just afford more money to get more temp staffs to help out as well?

Events/Activities

Coming Up with More Events/Activites
Well, after the big walk, I thought it was fun to ask people out to walk, talk and enjoy ourselves (even though we slack a bit here and there...). We also kind of enjoy ourselves there (even though it was quite tiring after our muscles had relax so much, haha...). Hmm... think that it is not a bad idea to organise such activities and have fun... Hmm.. I'm thinking of coming up more activities for my campmates. Well, if you have any interesting activities for us, feel free to ask me along, I'm glad to accept that... :P

Activities or Events, anyone?
Haha... I was thinking of going to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve to view the nature, or to go to Pulau Ubin to hike... :P Don't know if anyone would agree with the idea...

Anyway I'm trying to spot more events and activities that interest most of you people. Watch this space.

Hmm... cycling? Well I need guiding wheels, so don't laugh at me with the guiding wheels... Haha...

TNP Big Walk 2006!!!

Let's Walk
Haha... It's finally here. Me been waiting for like more than a month for this event to come. Anyway,I brought a camera for the walk. Too bad I accidentely drop the camera... Well, now it's spoilt, so think it's time to get a new camera. Anyway, the camera still can take basic photographs, and also put those pictures inside the computer, at least not everything is gone. Never mind, let me discuss about the walk.

I wokeup at about 5.30am this morning, and left the house at about 6am to catch the first train. Haha... had to wait for about 10 minutes for the train to come. Anyway, when I boarded the train, there were also a lot of people wearing the big walk T-shirt as well. Haha... Anyway, I didn't expect the train to be quite crowded very early in the morning.

Anyway, when I reached Kallang station, the policeman inside the station ask everybody to wait outside the station so that they would not block other people's way. Anyway, me happened to meet Hui Huang near the toilet. Also saw kai Quan as well, but he went inside the toilet to change his shirt. Well, as Hui Huang haven't eat his breakfast, I decided to go along with him to McDonald's. After that, Hong Joo and Victor met us at McDonald's, and the 4 of us went back to the station to as Kai Quan, Wei Qiang, Daniel and Wenhao were waiting outside the station. Dezhi then came a few minutes later. Haohan woke up late, so he decided to meet us at the stadium instead.

It was already quite late, and Shi Qing and Alex had not reached Kallang yet. We decided to call Shi Qing and Alex. Well, Shi Qing did not switch on his handphone. Alex said that he just woke up. WHAT?!?! Think he totally forgot about the event. So, we decided not to wait for Alex. Anyway, he paid me the $4 already, so think I must refund the money back to him. Since Shi Qing was not contactable, we decided to go to the stadium first.

Well, when we reached the starting point, the people started walking already. Haha... think we were late, buut anyway, most of the people were also late, so it's ok I supposed. Well, when we were at the start point, Haohan called me to tell me that he was at the station. Hmm... When we reached near the indoor stadium, he said he was outside the stadium. At that point, Shi Qing also called to say that he just reached the stadium. Well, when we reached the Kallang stadium McDonald's, we decided to stop to wait for Haohan and Shi Qing. At that point of time, I accidentely drop my camera while taking pictures... Haha... bad luck...

Anyway, as Haohan reached the McDonald's panting, Shi Qing called to say that he reached Suntec City McDonald's. WHAT?!?! Ok, 2nd time already... Anyway, we were shocked about that. We then decided to walk to Suntec to look for Shi Qing. Haha, Dezhi, Wei Qiang, Daniel and Victor were far ahead of us, left only the 6 of us behind. As we reached McDonald's at Suntec, Shi Qing was at somewhere else. So, the 6 of us have to find him in another place. Well, eventually, we found Shi Qing, with Dezhi, Wei Qiang, Daniel and Victor with him. Haha... initially we thought of taking the train back to the stadium, but we decided not to do so... Think we were really quite slack...

Anyway, we continue with the walk (nope, we didn't walk on the other direction back to the stadium, since we didn't really walk to the turning point yet). Well, Kai Quan and Victor were far ahead of the rest of the 9 of us, while we were behind talking, gossiping, joking and laughing away. Anyway, the 9 of us happened to find a Midpoint drinks station on the other side, so we decided to take the turning point there and rest there, while we wait for Kai Quan and Victor to reach the turning point and walk to the water point. Haha... Think this was a big slacker walk instead.

Well, we decided to walk quickly back to the stadium. Haha.. Think that was just for excitement. Anyway, after we reached the finishing point, we went to collect tour goodie bags. Counter 2 to 5 were full of people, while counter 6 to 10 were quite empty... Hmm... Think people didn't notice the counter on the other side. Well, the goodie bag, for those who want to know, comes with a tower, some snacks, facial cream and some discount vouchers. We also got the Certificate of Achievement as well for completing the 10km walk (but in fact we cut short the route).

Lunch at Suntec Burger King
After the walk, Hui Huang and Wenhao decided to go back first. Hui Huang still have tuition to teach. So, the 9 of us left went to Suntec City to have our lunch. Anyway, we thought of eating at McDonald's as there was a free Sundae each for those participants who walked the big walk, and also there was a coupon from the coupon booklet which gives free apple pie for every Extra-Value Meal purchase. Hmm... too bad the McDonald's were very full, so we decided to go to Burger King instead. Well, me decided to upsize the drinks only to large, as I wss feeling very thirsty. Yup, so thirsty that I finished my large drinks before I finish my fries...

Violin Later
Well, as all the people wanted to go home and rest after lunch, I called my parents to bring my violin and books to Dhoby Ghaut. Also told my father about the bad news about the camera. He was kind of upset about that... :P

Well, I was kind of tired while attending the lesson. Anyway, I was still playing ok, even thought I was tired, and the fact that I didn't practise for like 2 weeks... Haha... Whoa, think I better practise more often, or I will have to waste my money on my exams. The exams is also not like driving test, where I can take retest for just a few months later. If I fail this, I have to wait for another year, or at least half a year, if they have the February/March exams... Somemore driving just only need Basic Theory, Final Theory and Traffic Police practical test to get the license, and that's the end of the journey of learning how to drive. This one need so many grades, and also diplomas (and maybe even theories), and that's still not the end of learning yet, unless you get a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for Music, which I don't think I can get. So I'm actually conentrating more on this... :P Yes? TP test cost $150 plus? Yup, kind of waste but Grade 1 practical cost more than $100 if you don't know, Grade 8 practical cost $300 plus, DipABRSM cost about $500, LRSM cost about $1000, and FRSM cost about $1500. That's kind of pricey to go for a re-exams... Well, if I really get PhD for Music, then you could start calling me Dr Kang... :P

Haha... Exhausted...
After I reached home, I was feeling kind of tired, so I decided to sleep... Well, me likes to sleep in the day, if you don't know. :P

Great Music Sale

Friday Night Movie
Well, last Friday night, I watch Da Vinci Code with Kavan, Wei Jian and Siu Hang. Haha... while in the office, I wasn't feeling that well. Just for no reason, when I go to Toa Payoh Hub to meet them, I felt sooooo much better. Hmm... I think all the walking around made me feel better. Ok, think it's time for me to exercise.

Well, we were discussing whether we wanted to watch Over the Hedge or Da Vinci Code. Ok, just decided for Da Vinci Code anyway, since Siu Hang mentioned about the show. Well, I also bought one popcorn combo just for myself. Anyway, I'm still ok eating the popcorn, just don't know why.

Well, at first, Siu Hang only bought 3 tickets for the movie, because only the 3 of us, Kavan, Wei Jian and I paid the movie tickets to him. Then, he realised that he forgot to buy the tickets for himself! Haha... anyway, we were allow to exchange for the tickets. Hmm... too bad we had to sit on the front row (2nd row). My friends warn me that I had to "face the flag" for more than 2 hours plus. I was wondering what did he mean by that, until I got to sit on the seats and watch the movie. Yes, we really have to "face the raised flag" for more than 2 hours. After all, the movie was mostly about talking, not as interesting as what I expected. Hmm... after the show ended, I had a backache after "facing the flag" for 2 hours... Hmm... next time must come earlier and buy the tickets.

Big Music Sales
When I look at the music instruments at Yamaha Music shop, I notice that they were giving some special discounts to some of the instruments displayed there. I realised that they were having a great music sale. Well, only those selected models have sales. When I was looking at the brochure, I notice that the oboes have a great discount, costing $7000 plus for higher end models (usually cost more $10000 plus). When I calculate the amount, I realised that they were giving 30% discount for the oboes. OMG!!! That is freakingly cheap!!! That's was like more than $3000 less than the actual price! Haiz... Too bad I still don't have that money to buy the oboe. I really wanted one... Maybe you'll should give me an oboe as my 21st birthday present last time... Haha... just joking, this is something too expensive as a birthday present.

Anyway, I was thinking of ugrading the violin after my work contract had ended. Well, thought of getting the V10SG (costing $2300 without discounts), but since they were having sales for V7SG (costing $1200 without discounts), and after discount from music sales, the V7SG cost about $1080. That's like 10% discount. Well, I have the student card which gives 8% discount for all items (except those already discounted items and nett price items), so I was wondering whether I should get the V10SG with the 8% discount ($2116) from the student card, or get the V7SG with the 10% discount ($1080) from the Music Sales... Hmm... Now I'm in a dilemma...

Well, they have discount for 2 models of flute, YFL411 and YFL 614, both of them having 15% discount. Well, my flute is still good for playing, so there's no need for me to upgrade my flute so soon.

The Great Singapore Sales
Ok, for those people who don't know, the Great Singapore Sales will be from 26 May (Friday) to 23 July (Sunday). There will be up to 70% discount (which also means discounts of 70% OR LESS, just in case you read wrongly) for a lot of items for fashions, electronics, jewellery, watches, gifts, homeware etc. So, for those going for such sales, you can ask me out to do shopping with you. Haha... Let see if I could get anything good from the sales... :P

Courtesy

Is That What We Are Lacking Of?
Are Singaporeans lacking of courtesy? Well... maybe... That's what I observed. Think even myself do not really have much basic courtesy.

The Incident Just Now
Haiz... Jasmine and I made Johanna burst to tears... because she thought we were making fun of her just now. Jasmine tried to console her... but... well, she just left the train in a puff when the train reach her destination. We just don't really know what we should do about it... Hmm... think maybe we made the comments too lightly that she got furious with us...

Anyway, the incident goes like this. While in the train back home with 2 of my classmates, Jasmine and Johanna, other than all the school work and teachers they usually discuss about, they also talk about how the people inside the train wouldn't move to the center compartment to give space for people to enter the train. Ok... sometime I might not do that... because I will be alighting at about 1 to 2 stations away. Other times the train are way too crowded to squeeze in. At a few occassions, I might not go inside because I was feeling lazy... Hmm... kind of guilty about that when people had to squeeze through me to get to the center...

Anyway, when we got into the train, we squeeze through the center of the compartment so that other people can come inside to the train. The 2 of them were talking about school life, when Johanna notice that there were a mother with 2 kids standing inside the train. She then notice that there were just a lot of able-bodied ignorant people who just didn't see that. She then start to talk to us about that. She also notice that there were also those people who sleep while sitting inside the train, and those people wouldn't just care about what's in the train. She then talk about that very loudly so that those people can here. Jasmine and I started to get embarassed about that, so we couldn't resist ourselves laughing. Jasmine wanted Johanna to stop what she's doing, but she just kept on. Jasmine thinks that no matter what, those people wouldn't care about the surroundings, and by doing that, we would only get stared by most of the people inside the train, which of course would make us even more embarrassed, but Johanna thinks that she should get the people to have the attention, so that they will feel guilty about what they did.

In the end, Johanna start to burst into tears. Well, I only noticed that when Jasmine whispered to me about that. Oops... look like I'm also that ignorant person... Jasmine tried to calm her down, but Johanna said that we were just laughing at her about what she did just now. She taught that we made her look like a clown, but in fact we were just embarrassed... I mean, when you start to get embarrassed, sometimes you will of course start to laugh out a bit, because you are blushing. Well, that's natural, and not something we could control about it, right?

After that, when Johanna's destination reached (same destination as mine), she just rush out of the train... When I reached the gate, she was gone in a puff...

Haiz... maybe we should also consider other people's feelings... Well, Jasmine and me had a thinner skin, so we couldn't really accept what we did. But, maybe we should consider other people feelings as well...

Seriously, making a big noise in public places like that could do more harm instead. We might get despised and bullied inside just like that... But of course, I feel that people should really need to have certain courtesy. It's kind of sad when I had to see the very elderly standing inside the train throughout the whole journey while nobody gave way to their seats... They would just sit their and mind their own business. Hmm... I always stand on the train, so didn't really experience much about giving my seat to other people who need it. Well, I did that a few times before, and they show their gratitute to me. Kind of nice to receive that.

Are We Courteous?
Well, maybe I'm one of that kind of person that only show mild courtesy. Some times, when people asked donations from me, I just walk pass them without taking a look for many occasions... Hmm... maybe I'm always in the hurry, but no matter what, even I do not want to donate, I should tell them kindly instead, by refusing them politely with a smile. It's ok, sometimes you might not really have that small change to spare for donations, or your wallet is usually out of your own convenience, but of course, it would be better if you could donate and help the needs.

I've came across a few bad occasions when people asked me to do a survey of them. Well, there was one of the occasions near the train station where a person approach me about the survey. As I was hurrying for time, I politely refuse them. The person starts to mumble vulgarities to me, also also curse me to have bad luck. What an evil mouth they had... That was just so rude! It also hurts people's feelings as well. There was another occasions where I had to look for my friends near the train station, and the person standing beside me wanted me to do the survey. Well, I didn't take note of that, only knew that when the person scolded me loudly right in front of me just like that. Some people of course just did not care about their courtesy and manners. I was so frustrated with that, I gave him and angry stare and walk away.

There were also occasions where I was given such poor services in fast food restaurants and shops. The person would just unwilling to provide the service and gave you all the rude looks and unmannered services... There are also those people whom I know was so rude to me... So upset about that... I would rather they don't care about me than to give me such treatments... Haiz...

Haiz... Really... I was thinking, are we born to be treated in such manner by all these people? What's the point of coming here, when people are just so rude and unmannered to you? Why should I get scolded and cursed just like that... Maybe... if that's the case... maybe I shoudn't be born... maybe I shouldn't come to this world...

Computer Make Me Sick

Too Much Computers...
Argh... Whenever I sit in front of the computer, I'll start to feel queasy... No no no... That can't just do... Computer is something quite important of my life... How am I not going to use the computer at all? Think I must be working too much with the computers... Maybe I had to keep switching the view between the computers and the paper applications all the time, so that might be the reason why I feel sick...

But that can't just do... I'm taking Computer Engineering in National University of Singapore (NUS) in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECE). I can't possibly escape from computers... Did I pick up the wrong choice? Well, at least the Computer Engineering in ECE deals more with hardwares than that of SoC (School of Computing), so maybe I don't have to face too much computer when I'm doing the course. Moreover, the first year will be common engineering, so I might not get to touch much on computer stuffs.

Anyway, I can't just live on not facing the computer. After this very short weekend, I have to face with computer work again. Also heard that there's a roadshow going on as well, so there might be even more applications coming in... Hmm... what should I do?

Anyway, now I'm feeling much better, so I took this time to write out my blog.

Friday Work Matters
Luckily there was quite little applications yesterday. I kept wanting to throw up while keying in the applications. My head also spins... Anyway, think the environment isn't so good for poeple who are sick... Maybe they should do something about it.

Lunch at Ang Mo Kio Central
Anyway, one of the temp staff colleagues just ended her work contract yesterday, so we decided to go to Ang Mo Kio central by taking a cab. Hmm... as there were 7 people, we had to split into 4-3. Well, the four girls took the cab first. The 3 of us left only mananged to take the cab much later...

When we reached there, we realised that we paid more cab fare ($3.90) than the 4 who took the cab first ($3.10). They said that we should just cut through Nanyang Polytechnic as the route through there is much shorter than that of the main road. Well, never mind, at least we learn something.

Despite having nausea, runny nose, sore throat and cough, I still order a fried lemon chicken rice for lunch... After that, I also had ice kachang as my dessert (the big ice kachang is shared among the 7 of us). Haha... This is just how powerful temptations are... Anyway, they also buy some curry puffs (one of the best curry puffs) after we had our meals. Thought of buying the curry puff for myself, but I afriad that might make my throat even worst, after what I had eaten before that. Anyway, my throat was about to split already, and I also feeling a bit queasy there as well... Never mind, next time when I'm feeling much better, I'll come back and eat again.

Cab Discounts?
We also took the cab back to our office. Anyway, while halfway on the journey, we realised that the uncle forgot to switch on the fare meter. Haha... I thought, when did cabs started to give discounts. Thought we could kept mum about it so that we only just need to pay the flag-down fare of $2.40, but the uncle realised that later, and switch on the fare meter immediately... Anyway, the cab fare didn't reach $3, but we pitied the uncle by giving him $3 without change.

Deteriorating Health

The End of Me???
Maybe I should have rest at home for a few days instead. While in the office, I was feeling so green... My head also spins... Think it happened for a few days already... I thought throwing up might make me better, but it seemed that the food had been digested away... I wonder if I had done anything wrong to my body... Maybe I just couldn't resist my temptations in junk food... Yup... I might be thin, but it's a different case when comes to junk food... Looks like my body is teaching me a big lesson... It's already more than a week... Longer than I ever experienced... Maybe I didn't take good care of my body... Think... I might be the first person... First person to move to the hospital...

Whenever I faced the computer while in work... I would need to visit the restroom... I had that feeling to throw up... Well... nothing... It seemed it's not about throwing up... Think something is inside my throat... Something is growing inside my throat... Or something is stuck inside... The only way to know is to get the doctor to see it... Hopefully it's not something so serious...

My head spins when I use the computers... Could it be that light that gives me that queasy feeling??? Maybe I shouldn't just sit and face the computer too long... Now I'm feeling a bit better... I'm taking this chance to write this blog before I need to visit the restroom again...

While going out with my friends just now... I realise that I feel much better than in the office... We walk around the place for quite sometime... And I don't feel bad... In fact... It's a lot better... Think... I must be exercising too little... as what my colleague said... Looks like I cannot just stay with my old self... Continuing with this would not do... It would get worse... Looks like there is a need in changes... Looks like there is a need to revise my lifestlye... I'm thinking... How I should change this... How... I should stay away from the doctor... How... should I plan my activities...

The creation of this new blog... It is there for a purpose... It is to change from my stubborn old blog... It is to change my old style... Think... the old Miz... I am going to end this old Miz...

Don't you worry, my dearest friends... I'll be there for that long walk ahead...

A Quiet Day

Few People in the Office
Today, there were quite a lot of staffs taking leave. Think they were clearing their leaves now. Well, the office was much quieter today, since those perm staff that talk a lot were not here. Haha... can say that it's quite peaceful, but I still had work to complete as usual.

Hmm... There weren't much applications today coming in. Haha... I finished my work in the afternoon, and I also completed the work Conie assigned to me. Well, nothing much to do, so I just listen to music to the computer. Hmm... kind of bored when there's nothing much to do... Anyway, the last batch of mails came in like 30 minutes before I knock off, but there weren't much applications to key in as well. Managed to complete all the applications on time.

Queasy Feeling
Me feeling kind of queasy now. Just feel like throwing up, but nothing comes out from the mouth... Think something is growing inside my throat which gives me that kind of feeling... Haiz... quite uncomfortable... Think I'm going to rest early today...

Miz Best Buddy List
Haha... Think I'm coming up with this, just for fun. Well, I'm coming up with categories for that. Hmm... no prize for those being nominated though, me don't have that money to do so. :P Anyway, I'm coming up with this list to let you know my best buddy for different categories. For those not nominated in the list, you can try harder next time, I might consider you... :P

Quite Relaxing Today...

Less Applications
Hmm... so far I only received 30 new applications from the mails. Well, Veronica gave me some documents to be photocopied and keyed inside the computer, but it was not that many... Hmm... I think most of the people might have sign up for the card during the roadshow and from the SPIRIT magazine, that's why there's a drop in the number of applicants wanting to apply for Maybank card. Well, tomorrow Chae Yun will be away for the MOE Teaching interview, so at least I do not have to worry too much about printing out the customer inquiries.

An Odd Letter of Appeal
Today, I received this letter of appeal from a customer while opening all the letters I collected from the mails. Well, when I first glance at the letter, I thought it was just a letter to cancel the card, or to have permanent increase for the card. Then, I found out that the letter was 5 pages long. Well, I don't think people need to write a 5 page letter of cancellation or letter for permanent increase, so I decided to read it.

Haha... it's actually a letter of appeal, to appeal the bank to issue the customer the credit card he applied. Well, thought that the letter was somewhat... funny... so, I decided to share this with you by typing out what it is written. Ok, I summarise the whole letter.

Well, he appeal for this credit card because he need more credit card so as to put him on the safe line. Hmm... I don't quite understand why... He also apply for other banks credit card and compare the banks as well. Haha... I don't know if there's anything to appeal about the card.

Anyway, there's something that I want to point out. Firstly, we do not reject credit card application just because the person had too many cards. We only reject those applications that do not meet the credit card requirements, or if the person had poor credit history. Well, if the applicants does not meet our credit card requirements, eg having too little annual income, then well will reject it. If the person is in bankrupt before, we might reject it as well (you should know why).

Secondly, credit card is not a form of security. I don't see how credit card can protects a person. If it is a form of security, everybody will be applying for a credit card now. Having more credit cards does not mean that you will have grater security. Urgent payment through credit card is not a form of security. There's no need for so many credit cards to pay for the things you need to pay urgently. In fact, one credit card is enough. The credit limit can be temporarily increase, if the amount exceeds the credit limit set in the card. By the way, many credit cards means that the annual fee is much more than one credit card. Also, I don't see the point for having 20 plus credit cards, especially if you can't possibly use them all within a one month period. That's not the purpose of the credit card.

Thirdly, there's no need to compare between banks, or write out any experience, to appeal for credit card applications. A short letter, with valid reasons and proves, is sufficient.

But anyway, I had fun reading this letter. Just make my day much better. Wonder what are they going to do with his applications.

When Will I Recover?
Haiz... still not so well yet... Sometime have the feeling of vomit... but actually it's the swell inside my throat that gives me the feeling. Well, hope that I could get better soon. Anyone can recommend any remedies for me?

POSB Go!

Work Matters
Again had to visit the toilets most of the time to blow my nose. Haha... wonder how many people would get infected with my common cold... Anyway, my nose bleeds again. Think my nasel must get too inflame that it start to bleeds. At least the blood didn't just flow out from the nose, only see the blood when I stick the toilet paper (haha, no tissue paper though) into my nose.

Anyway, I only managed to finish the work for Conie dated 11 May. Haha... still haven't done the pne for 12 May, 13 May and 14 May, and they were actually needed to be done yesterday. Anyway, I also need to do the 15 May applications as well... Never mind, think I'll just let it pile up first, just like how Serene pile up here balance transfer.

The Card is Finally Here...
After waiting for more than one month, my POSB Go! ATM enhanced card is finally here!!! Haha... thought that it got lost in the mail... Well, I supposed the card centre is also somewhat like the Maybank card centre, where all urgent documents become not urgent, and those that are not urgent will be dragged until they feel like doing them... Haha... that's why the card take so long to come. Anyway, think this is going to happen to the Maybank E-card and Flashcard, so don't apply those cards now, if you don't want to wait. Putting it as "urgent" would not help, since any applications that come onto my hands will definitely become "not urgent". "Ad-hoc" will at most become "quite urgent", that's all. Haha... :P

Anyway, I don't mind waiting so long for the card to come, as long as the card does not fall onto the wrong person. If that really happens, my bank will soon run dry of money, since anyone can just sign using my card like that.

Anyone wants to apply? There's the MasterCard features as well (not just MasterCard Electronic), but since this is only for electronic use (how ironical), you can't really use the card for internet/online transaction. Well, never mind, it's good if you want to shop at places where they don't accepts NETS, but accepts MasterCard. Well, if you apply the card, you have to sacrifice your old ATM card though... But never mind, you still can keep your old ATM card as a souvenir.

Blocked Nose

Many Restroom Visits
Well, not that I need to relieve myself many times. In fact, none of restroom visits were for relieving myself in the office. Ok, I had stuffy nose, well I didn't my tissue around, so I always visit the restroom to use the toilet paper there and blow my nose. Didn't count how many visits though, think I visited about 20 times there. Haha... if the water bill suddenly increase, think it must be me who kept flushing the mucus filled toilet paper down the toilet. Ok, for those working there, if you don't want to fall sick, don't visit the 3rd floor gents. Think the restroom is filled with cold viruses from me... :P

Also sneezed quite a lot of times in the office. Don't know how many people will get infected though. Heard from a study that office is the place where there are the most germs, much more than in the toilet. Hmm... if that's the case, try to stay away from the office as much as possible if you don't want to fall sick. So where should you work? Maybe in the restroom. The restroom is always being cleaned by the cleaner, and the cleaning solution used to clean the toilets really kill the germs. So think that might be a good place to work? (Haha... joking :P)

Just now I sneezed a bit too hard in the office. Then I started to have nose bleed. Kind of freak out a little after touching my nose with my hands to see blood. Haha... I quickly ask a tissue from my colleague nearby, cover my nose and rush to the toilet and try to get rid of the blood. Haha... luckily I didn't stain my shirt with blood... Can be quite a freak to see blood on the shirt...

Haiz... as what cancerboy said, think I should take care of myself. Hope that I can get well soon...

More Work Piling Up
Haha... I only did the statistic for Conie's work. No time to print out the customer inquiries from SEMA, match the CPF statements, calculate income and staple the documents. Not that I didn't want to do them, there were just too many mails for me to handle as well. Also Chae Yun needs help in buying Credit Bureau (CB), so I have to help her with that.

Anyway, I can see a shophouse of Conie's work on my desk. think by the end of the day, it will grow into a tower. By the end of my contract, my desk will become a city. How intresting... The population just keep growing dramatically. Well, I'm trying to control the population, but think I didn't have that ability currently. Hmm... Think the bank should employ more temporary staff to help out. they should not save money like that. Our pay is quite low already, what more do they want?

Still remember when I first started work, my upper-study showed me a room with a few towers of papers. Thought that the paper were all meant to be shredded away, but she said that they were all meant to be filed. WHOA!!! I was thinking, how am I going to clear that small city away. Anyway, Guan Si, Chae Yun and me had made this few towers into many shophouses by sorting them out. Anyway, we cleared some of the shophouses, but of course there are more coming in, so think this filing thing will never end...

Mother's Day: The Day to Eat

Let's Eat
Ok, yesterday we had our dinner at a seafood restaurant with our relatives. They have this coconut dessert specially for the mothers that eat inside the restaurant. Haha... forgot to ask my father to take the picture of that.

This morning, our family had our breakfast at Café Cartel. Well, we should eat something different for mother's day, right? Anyway, the system seemed to have change a little. Now we just go in and find the seats on our own, rather than a waiter having to guide you to the seats. Hmm... not really sure if that's for lunch and dinner as well. Also, we don't get to write down our orders first and pay immediately, but rather the waiter take down the orders, put the bills on the table, and we can pay before the food are served, or after we finish our meals, whenever we like. Don't know when they changed the system though.

Since there's no violin lesson today, I could stay at home and rest all day. How nice... Anyway, I think I'm getting flabby... Looks like I need to exercise sooner or later, or else I will shape like a pear... Don't really like to eat pears though. Anyway, I really need to rest more since I just caught a cold, and developed a cough. Haha, despite that, I still eat McDonald's for lunch. Hmm... just couldn't resist myself. :P

Dreams
Come to think of it, I had an odd dream today. I dreamt that McDonald's had set up a franchise in my alma mater, KCPPS, in the canteen. I was thinking, how odd would McDonald's set up in a PRIMARY SCHOOL, thought that the Ministry of Education (MOE) wouldn't allow that. They also had that big McDonald's signboard outside the school as well. Anyway, I decided to check out the canteen, and I really see McDonald's inside the school. The price? It's very cheap. A set meal with small fries and drinks cost between $1 to $1.50 each. That's freakingly cheap. Haha... I decided to buy a lot of meals out for me, and also my friends to eat as well. Haha...

Too bad that's only a dream. MOE wouldn't allow and fast food joint to be set up in schools or colleges canteens. You only see such things in polytechnics and universities only.

Mother's Day Cake
Later in the afternoon, I went out with my sister to buy a mother's day cake for my mother. Haha... think mother's day is the time for us to eat... Anyway, we looked at the cakes from BreadTalk and Sweet Secrets, and also ice-cream cakes from Häagen-Dazs and Swensen's. Anyway, the ice-cream cakes for Häagen-Dazs are way too expensive. The cakes could easily cost about $100. After some consideration, we decided to buy the chocolate ice-cream cake from Swensen's, which is about $40. Well, here's the picture of the cake.

The Four
Ok, not really related to mother's day. I just put it for fun. This is a picture taken with my cousins during Chinese New Year. What do you think?

A Sleepy Day

Sleeping for the Whole Day
Can't believe that I had been sleeping for the whole morning and afternoon. Just really feel like sleeping. Think it must be the medication I'm taking now that made me want to sleep a lot. Haha... basically, I only take my meals and medication, and sleep during morning and afternoon. Just don't feel like doing anything else though. Luckily there's no flute lesson today. So tired... think I don't really have the mood to blow the instrument.

I also developed a cough and runny nose as well. Hmm... think that whitish thing inside my throat makes my throat sore. The liquid stuck inside the nostrils must have caused the runny nose. Well, a least blowing the nose makes me feel much better, but makes me more difficult to breathe. Hopefully this only last for a few days...

Dinner at a Seafood Restaurant
Later in the evening, our family and relatives went to have a dinner at Seafood restaurant at West Coast. The food is nice over there. Well, we waited quite long for the braised shark fins to be served to our table. Well, maybe because the soup takes a longer time to prepare. The braised shark fin is kind of different from most of the normal shark fins, it's purer and the put a lot of beansprout inside. Don't really like to eat the beansprout, but I still force the beansprout into the stomach.

Think I drank about one and a half cans of 7-up. Yup, I have cough, but I still drink cold drinks as usual, just didn't really care about that.

Miz Presents: The 7th Generation Consoles

The 7th Generation (Next Generation) Consoles
Yes, it's already the 7th generation of video game consoles, just for those people who didn't know. Video games consoles have been existed ever since before I was born. Well, Nintendo started it's console from the 3rd generation, known as Famicom (JP) or Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)(US), Sony started from the 5th generation as Playstation. Microsoft started from the 6th generation as Xbox. Ok, Sega started it from 3rd generation as Master System, but ended the console thing on the 6th generation as Dreamcast.

Which One?
Ok, here are the pictures and videos for the 7th generation consoles.

Xbox 360 (Microsoft)

Playstation 3 (Sony)

Wii (Nintendo)

Pictures taken from Wikipedia and Sony Computer Entertainment. Videos from YouTube contributors.

Which one will you be getting?

Vesak Day

No Work!!!
That's the good thing. Well, less pay, but I'm ok with that. I've being keying so many applications for the past few days. Now my head feels a bit giddy after prolong usage of computer. Hmm... hopefully my eyesight don't get worst.

Anyway, our family had pour breakfast at Tekka Mall. Again eat bee hoon from the vegetarian stall. Just feel like eating bee hoon. My throat still haven't recover fully yet, so I find it a little bit difficult to swallow the bee hoon down.

Initially our family and relatives wanted to have dinner on the evening to celebrate for mother's day. Well, the thing is my sister was going out with her friends, one of my cousins had to go for her friend's barbeque, and the other one had something on to do. So, we decided to have the dinner tomorrow evening instead.

Movie: Poseidon
Anyway, in the afternoon, I watched the movie Poseidon with Wei Qiang, Chun Hoo and Haohan. Well, when I went to the cinema to buy the tickets, the queue was very long. Think it almost reached the AXS machine on the other side. Well, at least we managed to get Class E (5th row) seats on the side. Haohan actually bought the movie voucher there, but didn't use them since the 3 of them arrived just before the movie starts. If I were to wait for Haohan, think we will definitely be very late for the movie.

Sleepy
When I board the train back to Bishan, I was feeling very sleepy. Think it must be the medicine that I eat which cause drowsiness. Almost fell asleep standing inside the train. Luckily I managed to try to get myself awake, or I might fall in the train. Kind of embarassing if that really happened...

Swollen Throat

Eating Too Much Heaty Food?
When I woke up this morning, I felt that there was something that stuck inside the throat. Thought the rice must have stuck inside the throat, but I didn't eat any rice yesterday... Maybe the popcorn? Well, just don't know what is it though. Anyway, it feels very uncomfortable. I didn't had my breakfast because I did not have the mood to eat.

Haha, about work, I purposely delay the work I need to do for Conie. By right the E-card applications need to be routed by her yesterday, but I delayed the work until today. She ask me to hand back the applications to her, as there's today's applications to do as well. Anyway, when I gave back the applications, she told me to calculate the income first before giving the applications back. Ok, so I continue with my work first, and I only calculate them very slowly when I have done all my work I need to do. Hmm... not evil enough, I think. Next time I should gave her the work 2 days later instead. Well, to me, E-card applications are not important at all, since that's not what I'm supposed to do... :P

For lunch, we decided to buy the food back to the office to eat. Well, I still did not have the mood to eat, so I decided to buy a plain waffle for lunch. Hmm... I was really quite hungry, especially when I smell other people's food, but I still don't have that mood to eat. Hmm... there's a war going on between my stomach and my throat...

After lunch, I felt a bit giddy. Hmm... maybe I did not have that energy to keep me going on... I was woking much slowly than normal. Haiz... I kept typing in the wrong things, eg. typing IC number as address, typing name as IC number... At least I manage to spot my mistake before I clicked the "save" button.

Aftr work, my mother told me to visit the doctor. Well, the doctor told me that there is something whitish inside my throat, which may lead to sore throat. Well, I supposed there's a pus inside my throat, or maybe my throat is a bit swollen. Hmm... maybe I eat too much heaty food? Anyway, I don't really care about how much heaty food I eat. I'm just going to eat heaty food as usual... :P Never, I'll drink more water as well. I was feeling very hungry for dinner. Though my throats forbided me from eating, I just force the food inside the throat to the stomach. Well, I really need energy to do things...

Haha... Still Cannot Finish...

More Unfinished Work
Haha... there are also a lot of applications to key in today. Veron also gave me quite a lot of work to do as well... Haha... no time to finish Conie's work. Well, at least I printed out all the SEMA for E-cards and FlashCards (Conie's work), only did a bit of stapling for that... Anyway, I also did not have the time to print out the SEMA for Classic and Platinium cards. Looks like there will be a lot of work for me to do tomorrow... How sad... I'm the only person there to open all the 100 plus mails, and the only person to key in all the applications into the system... Chae Yun may not be able to finish her ES and Credit Bureau, while Serene already had problems finishing the Balance Transfer... Looks like the bank SHOULD employ more temp staff to help us out.

Lunch at PS (Neighbourhood Police Centre) Again
We decided to have lunch at the NPC again. Well, I decided to try out the Wanton noodles over there. Hmm... the noodles taste kind of bland... I supposed because the sauce used for the wanton noodle is very bland. It's quite tasteless... Well, I haven't tried the wanton noodle from Tech Point canteen before, so I can't really compare the food.

Movie: The Wild
After work, I met my Secondary School friends, Kavan, Wei Jian and Siu Hang, for a movie at Jubilee (at Ang Mo Kio). We decided to catch the movie The Wild at 7.15pm. Hmm... kind of feel a bit sleepy, but I still manage to keep myself awake for the movie. Anyway, the movie has quite a lot of silly humour, which can give us some good laugh there. The movie kind of resembles Madagascar though, and the storyline are quite alike between the 2 movies. Anyway, both have lions as the main character, and there are giraffes as supporting character for both as well. Hmm... I wonder...

After the movie, we had our dinner at S-11 at Bishan (near Junction 8). Can't really think of what I wanted to eat, so I decided to eat Ban Mian wtih Wei Jian and Siu Hang. Think I must had ate quite a lot today, so I felt kind of full even after I reach home. Hmm... think must eat a bit less for the next few days...

Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Wii?
Anyone getting any of the 3 next generation consoles? Hmm.. I was wondering whether I should get Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 or Nintendo Wii. Hmm... thought Wii is kind of interesting after they released the features yesterday. I'm also very interested in Wii as well. The controlller for Wii kind of looks like a remote control. The controller is also able to sense full 3D motion. The sensor inside itself allows it to sense rotational and translational movement along the 3 axes, providing a full six degrees of freedom. It is also compatible with all televisions, including digital projectors. It will also have rumbling features, speaker and a microphone as well.

Hmm... maybe I'll get one of that to play... Hopefully won't get hooked with the thing until I forgot about my studies... :P

WOW...

100 Plus
Anyone here for a 100 plus isotonic drink? Think I really need to drink that so that I have that energy to carry on with my work. Anyway, there were SOOOOOOOOOO MANY (x100) mails coming in today. I only collected the mails at 2pm. Didn't even bother to collect the rest of the big bulk of mails later in the afternoon, because I know that I cannot finish the one that I collected in 2pm. Anyway, if I really collected the mails at 5.30pm, then I'll do even more work. Just for no reason, once I see mails I'll start to work, so that's why I didn't collect the rest later in the afternoon. Well, the work can be done tomorrow, so why must I work so hard to finish all the work before I knock off, right?

Anyway, there were like more than 80 new applications coming in (excluding those that are still in the mailing room), plus I have to do another 20 plus new applications and about 15 upgrade applications given by Veron. Haiz... today I really hit 100 plus for those new applications (excluding the upgrade applications) that I keyed in. to be exact, it's 112 new applications. I was already in bonkers after keying that many applications. Chae Yun also have to print out the customer inquiries today as well, because she knew that she won't be able to finish her work tomorrow if she did not do it just now. Anyway, they were mostly Visa Platinum applications. According to the source, the applications mostly comes from a magazine, so I supposed Maybank may have requested the magazing publisher to include their Visa Platinum application forms inside the magazine... Hmm... what a move to make, and I don't think so many people earned at least $50000 a year (about $4166.67 a month).

While opening the mails, I realsed that there were some blank applications coming in as well... Hmm... think the people just want to mail the applications for fun, since they do not have to pay for mailing the applications. Well, it's Maybank that has to pay for all the mails. Never mind, I'm sure Maybank will have enough money to pay for the applications. Each applications only needs 23¢ to mail anyway.

Today, one of my colleagues also told us that the job that the 4 of us (Guan Si, Chae Yun, Serene and me) are doing now used to be a job for 8 people. WHAT?!?!?! Think they must be taking us as over-age child labour... Hmm... look like we must demand our head to give us double pay!!!

Bee Hoon Madness
Just don't know why, recently I've been eating fried bee hoon for lunch. Just have that cravings for fried bee hoon. I had been eating this for my past 2 lunches, don't know if I might be eating that again tomorrow. :P Anyway, today we bought the food back to the office. Well, just don't know why thought, we don't feel like eating outside there.

Just found out during lunch time that Justina is from the same primary school as me. Thought that she looked kind of familiar, so I asked her which school she was from last time. Indeed, we came from the same primary school (Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School). Well, she didn't apply for the affiliated school because she moved her house to Woodlands. A small world indeed...

Unfinished Work

Mails by Installment
Something that I don't like... Mails that comes in installment. Well, the mails comes in a small bulk at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and right before I knock off from work. how am I going to finish my work like that, especially when there were quite a lot of mails before I was about to end my work day? Never mind, anyway, I'm not the one who apply the credit cards. If I have to delay, so be it. At most the customers get their cards later, and maybe they will get angry with the bank, and advised their families, relatives and friends not to apply the card from the bank... :P

Today, I also stamp the date wrongly... Haha... had to change the date using hand though... Just don't know why I put the date as 08 JUN 2006 when today is only 08 MAY 2006... Think I must be thinking too much of vacation, or maybe because I'm still waiting for CED to come by...

Anyway, after I came back from work, I had a bit of headache. Just don't know why though... Think must be the lack of sleep. Hmm... maybe I shouldn't use the computer so often...

Lunch in Office
Well, we decided to have lunch in office. Oddly, Guan Si decided to eat the hor fun from Tech Point canteen. Thought he would eat his cup noodles as usual. Haha... too bad we still didn't join the new temp staff, Ranneth and Justina, for lunch. Never mind, perhaps tomorrow we might join them for lunch...

Happy Birthday Stanley!!!
Today is Stanley Ang's birthday. Well, I wishing him Happy Birthday. Don't know if he's reading this blog though, but never mind, I hope that he will have fun today. Hmm... birthday presents? Haha... never mind, I don't have my birthday presents as well. :P

Tired Sunday

Breakfast Alone
My parents still wake me up for breakfast. Anyway, they were going to eat carrot cake at a hawker centre at Ang Mo Kio, so I deicded to have my breakfast at McDonald's. Yup, I ate the same thing as yesterday's breakfast, Sausage McMuffins meal. Just don't know why I suddenly feel like eating that...

Violin
Haha... didn't really practise much as usual. While playing, I almost could not find the repeat sign, so I struggle a bit there... Never mind, those pieces are not my exam pieces anyway. Well, the teacher also gave us a copy of Pachebel Canon in D. He said he's going to teach us bit by bit every week. Ok... thing it's time for us to learn how to change positions on the violin...

Sleeping...
After I came back from my lesson, I went to sleep... Haha... Just don't know why. I was feeling very tired... Think must be all the work that I do... Hmm... wonder why people would want to apply Maybank credit cards. I don't see anything special about Maybank cards. They don't even have AMEX (American Express) or maybe JCB (Japan Credit Bureau) credit cards, only the very common Visa and MasterCard... Their debit cards are MasterCard Electronic cards. Well, since there's the word "Electronic", this means that the card cannot be used to purchase anything online...

Anyway, I didn't switch on the air-con while sleeping in the hot afternoon, so I kept sweating, which made sleeping kind of uncomfortable...

Miz the Clarinettist

Haha... What do you think? This thing really needs a lot of breath. Good for training while running and playing the clarinet at the same time, so you won't feel breathless after training in that way... :P
